The mutual influence between local packing and connectivity is investigated by a molecular-dynamics study of a model polymer melt with incommensurate ratio of the monomer size and the bond length. Bond-bond angular distribution, Steinhardt's orientation order parameters Ql (l = 2 - 10) and selected features of the Voronoi polyhedra (number of faces, edges per face and pentagonal faces) of both the instantaneous and the inherent configurations are considered.
